With luck, within a week, we are able to get two seats on one way Lufthansa flight and will be able to travel back to the European summer at the beginning of June.

The travel time for those 9,000km is a mere 11 hours. 11 hours for a trip that took us 100 days! In this prosperous vessel we cross over the poorest regions.  We fly from the prosperous oasis of Cape Town into the prosperous oasis of Europe. And exactly as on our flight the trip goes through our heads. The flight goes over Namibia, Angola, and the Congo, where there is a civil war, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Kmaron, Chad, Nigeria and Libya. Finally we cross the Mediterranean and we are in Europe.

Even this jet driven flying apparatus takes close to five hours to cross the Sahara. A never-ending expanse and we had the opportunity to cross the largest desert by car. At some point we reach Frankfurt and then fly on to Munich. Another three hours by train and we are home again in the beautiful Allgaeu.

Whether a trip takes two days or 100 no day is ever the same.

Every day has its own color, its own people, its own face.

Every day is wonderfully individual.

Much has moved us. Sometimes out of frustration, sometimes out of surprise, and time and again we experienced great happiness from the people we met and the land that we saw.

We are quite happy that we can say we would do it again.

We thank all who supported us.
